In terms of a global scale, soccer is considered the most popular sport.  In the United States, however, with the exception of the World Cup I feel that it is at best the fourth or fifth most popular sport to watch in the country.

The College Football Playoff: Why It Should Be 16 Teams

While the 4 team playoff that was implemented a few seasons ago is a start, I think it still needs to expand more and I think the magic number is 16. A 16 team playoff to me just makes sense. Currently there are 10 conferences in the football bowl subdivision: American Athletic Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Ten Conference, Big 12 Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West Conference, Pac-12 Conference, Southeastern Conference, and Sun Belt Conference. There are also 3 Independent school who currently have no conference affiliation, and those are UMass, Army, Notre Dame, and BYU. To have the teams and conferences evenly distributed, I think these teams will need to join a conference to be eligible for the playoff.

College Football Bowl Season Is Upon Us

It's the most meaningless season of the year.  The college football bowl season is getting out of hand.  Excluding the college football playoff games, there are now 38 bowl games.   Ranging from the Celebration Bowl and the Dollar General Bowl, to the prestigious Citrus Bowl and Orange Bowl.  That means that 80 out of a total of 128 teams get to play in a postseason bowl game.  In previous seasons its been a struggle

It's the Patriot Way

Stop me if you've heard this before, but I'm not sure if anyone can beat the New England Patriots in the playoffs this season.  On paper, this team's offense feels like the pure definition of unstoppable.  With the likes of future hall of famer Rob Gronkowski at tight end, explosive Brandin Cooks at wide-out who seems to be getting better every week, productive slot receiver Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan who has become a big play threat, and what seems like an unlimited number of running backs at their disposal, there is almost an endless number of ways this team can't be stopped.  And oh yeah, I forgot to mention,
