2018 MLB Playoff Matchup Predictions

Based on my division standing predictions, here would be the first round matchups for the 2018 MLB Playoffs.

2018 MLB Predictions - NL West

The Dodgers won a league best 104 games last year, but I don't see that happening again. Will they even win the West this year?

2018 MLB Predictions - NL Central

Barring any injury setbacks or an outright collapse, the Chicago Cubs should win the NL Central once again.  Those pesky Cardinals will probably hang around and may challenge for the win but I think the Cubs hold on.
NL Central
Chicago Cubs  94-68St Louis Cardinals  90-72

2018 MLB Predictions - NL East

The Nationals once again are projected to win the East, and are also potential World Series contenders, but my big surprise pick to win a division comes out of the East.

2018 MLB Predictions - AL West

The defending World Series Champions might get challenged for a little while this season, but I think the Astros eventually run away with the division.
AL West
 Houston Astros 98-64

2018 MLB Predictions - AL Central

Here are my predictions for the AL Central.  Most people probably think the Indians will run away with the division again, but I think another team may hang around and keep it close most of the season.

2018 MLB Predictions - AL East

The start of the 2018 Major League Baseball season is upon us so here are my final standing predictions for this season.   Up first, the AL East, which should be a battle between two teams all season.

AL East New York Yankees 98-64

Barkley to the Browns?

The Cleveland Browns have to take Saquon Barkley number one overall in this year's draft.  They can't pass up on what could be the next big running back in the NFL.  His combine numbers are off the charts, and he was an explosive playmaker at Penn State.  If the Browns pass on him or trade out of the first pick I think they are making a huge mistake.  Picking Barkley could finally turn their franchise around.  Even better for the Browns is the fact that they also have the fourth pick in the draft.  That means that if they take Barkley at number one, they should also be able to get one of the top three quarterbacks in this years class; Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, or Josh Rosen.  If the Browns manage to avoid somehow screwing these two picks up, they could get a franchise quarterback and running back all within the first four picks of the draft.  If they do go with Barkley and one of those three quarterbacks and those players pan out, the Browns could become a serious threat in th…
